The main goal of this initiative - coordinated by APDES and composed of several acknowledged European institutions in the prevention, treatment and harm reduction areas - is to develop and assess innovative pilot-interventions in the ambit of problematic use of New Psychoactive Substances.
APDES’s abstract “Opiod Substitution Programs in Portugal: Understanding The Decision Making Process" is part of the chapter “Health Literature” and can be seen on page 107 of the aforementioned magazine.

Between 7-9 May, the 2nd European Harm Reduction Conference – organized by the European Harm Reduction Network (EuroHRN), the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, the Department of Health of the Canton of Basel-City and the Infodrog - takes place in Basel, Switzerland.
José Queiroz, CEO of APDES, participated in the plenary session on May 7, entitled “What the future holds for harm reduction/opportunities”, under the motto “Harm reduction works. Fund it!”. His communication focused on the question of the evolution of risk reduction stakeholders, by drawing a parallel between activists and professionals in this area and by highlighting the need to change the paradigm of the latter..
It is important to highlight the key role of APDES in/for this conference, due to its position as founding member and leader of the South Europe Sub-Regional Network of the European Harm Reduction Network, composed of Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Belgium and Greece.
